About the site:

Former Rocky Mountain News Web editor Robert Niles founded Theme Park Insider in 1999 as a reader-driven citizen journalism site. The site won the Online Journalism Award for Service Journalism in 2001 for its reader-contributed database of injury accidents on theme park rides. OJR's J.D. Lasica profiled Theme Park Insider and other niche consumer journalism sites in 2002.

(Disclosure: In 2004, Niles became editor of OJR.)
