The Media Giraffe Project at UMass Amherst
About the site: The MGP website soft-launched in April 2005 and has built a database of 300 "giraffe prospects" for which profiles are being gradually assembled. Bill Densmore, a former wire-service, trade-publishing and community weekly editor and publisher, is editor/director of the MGP and Dr. Norm Sims, journalism professor at UMass, is principal investigator. Funding is from private donors and the university. Foundation funding is sought. [Update this description]
