The Center for Public Integrity is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, tax-exempt organization that conducts investigative research and reporting on public policy issues in the United States and around the world.
It was founded in 1989 by Charles Lewis, who has a history with network television news. The site's current executive editor is investigative journalist Roberta Baskin, who took the reigns in 2005. The site won the 2004 Online Journalism Award for Enterprise Journalism and General Excellence (both in the small sites category), as well as the Enterprise Reporting award of 2003.
